PARALLEL PLATES – STRIPLINES

The compliant choice for RS103 testing under new MIL-STD-461H. Montena's parallel plate lines generate a true propagating electromagnetic field — fully meeting the requirements of MIL-STD-461H for formal RS103 qualification testing.
Easy to operate handheld system
Montena’s parallel plate lines are purpose-built for immunity testing of small to medium-sized equipment, and generate a true propagating electromagnetic field — fully meeting the requirements of new MIL-STD-461H for formal RS103 qualification testing. The field is maintained as uniform as possible over the test boundary, ensuring both accuracy and repeatability. The equipment under test can be successively tested in both polarisations without being dismounted, and the line is electrically symmetrical with impedance matched on both sides. It is also suitable for automotive immunity testing per European Directive 2004/104/EC and for broadcast receivers per EN 55035.
Montena’s striplines are designed for immunity testing of automotive devices in accordance with ISO 11452-5 and SAE J1113/23. Mounted on an adjustable table, they are easy to operate and move. The table can be tilted vertically to reduce its footprint, and the stripline can be split into two sections for storage or transport. Two standard impedance models are available (50 and 90 ohms), with an impedance adapter as an optional accessory. A complete test setup including all accessories and control software can be supplied on request.

FAQ
What are Montena’s striplines and parallel plates used for?
Montena’s striplines and parallel plates are used to test the immunity of devices to electromagnetic fields, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as automotive and broadcast regulations.
What are the key features of Montena’s striplines?
The striplines produce high fields with low power, are fixed to a table which is adjustable and portable, have 50 and 90 ohm impedance options, and can be divided for storage or transport.
What standards do the striplines comply with?
They comply with automotive standards ISO 11452-5 and SAE J111, as well as European directives and broadcast standards for immunity testing.
How are the parallel plates designed to enhance testing?
The parallel plates allow easy testing of devices in both polarizations without dismounting, are electrically symmetrical, and have adapted impedance via transformers on both sides.
Can the stripline system be expanded with accessories?
Yes, support accessories include impedance adapters, couplers, and suitable software to control the test setup.
Where can I find detailed technical documentation and get support?
Technical sheets, datasheets, and documentation are accessible online, and Montena’s support team is available for personalized assistance.
